Practical examples include:
- Tracking trending topics in a particular country or city to tailor marketing campaigns.
- Monitoring active trends in specific categories like Sports or Technology.
- Fetching trending data in different languages for localized content creation.
- Integrating live trend data into dashboards or applications for real-time insights.

Output
The node outputs a JSON object containing the trending search data as returned by the SerpApi Google Trends Trending Now endpoint. The structure typically includes:
- An array of trending topics with details such as title, traffic, related queries, and timestamps.
- Metadata about the query such as location, category, and time range.
- Pagination tokens if applicable.
If the output format is set to "html", the raw HTML content of the search results page is returned instead.
The node does not output binary data.
Dependencies
- Requires an active SerpApi account with a valid API key credential configured in n8n.
- Internet access to call the SerpApi endpoint at
https://serpapi.com/search.json. - Proper configuration of the API key credential in n8n credentials settings.
Troubleshooting
Common issues:
- Invalid or missing API key credential will cause authentication errors.
- Using incompatible parameter combinations, such as setting both
asyncandno_cacheto true, will result in errors. - Providing unsupported or incorrect location codes or date formats may lead to empty or error responses.
- Exceeding API rate limits or quota can cause request failures.
Error messages:
- Authentication errors indicate problems with the API key; verify the key and credential setup.
- Parameter validation errors suggest invalid input values; check property values against allowed options.
- Network or timeout errors may require checking internet connectivity or retrying later.
